Do you often suffer from abdominal bloating? Tired of feeling full, bloated, windy, gassy and generally darned uncomfortable for no apparent reason? Fed up feeling a lack of confidence, always having to wear baggier clothes and never wanting to be seen without a t-shirt on?
Guess what? Me too!
So what causes this bloating? Pretty simple actually: it’s trapped gas in the small intestine that’s produced by undigested food fermenting. It causes excess wind, stomach pains and a generally horrible uncomfortable and unpleasant feeling.
If you’re looking for relief, or even a cure, you must understand that while there are some things you can do to help relieve the symptoms of bloating, the very best way of putting a stop to it once and for all is by preventing it in the first place.
Here are my top 13 bloating remedies or prevention tips for you. These have all really worked for me over the last couple of years.
- Eat slowly—eating too quickly stops your food being digested properly on the way down;
- Don’t drink while eating—flushing your food down stops your body being able to do its proper job of breaking food down;
- Cut down on dairy products—lactose in milk and cheese is known to cause many a human being problems (milk is made for baby cows);
- Cut down on wheat products—gluten in wheat, especially too much of it, can cause excess gas and bloat;
- Avoid some fruits—apples, peaches and pears are typical culprits;
- Eliminate gas-producing foods—stuff like beans, cabbage, onions, artichokes, asparagus, brussel sprouts and broccoli certainly make me gassy;
- Avoid antibiotics—take too many of these and you destroy the ‘good’ bacteria which digests food;
- Watch the sugar and salt—avoid too much of these in processed food, and knock the fizzy drinks on the head too;
- Get some peppermint oil and peppermint tea—my number one bloating remedies! Swallow the oil in capsules and drink the tea in, er… tea! Love it;
- Cut down on tea and coffee—the caffeine irritates your stomach, causing bloating;
- Eat lots of ginger—a wonder herb that boosts digestive fluids and waves goodbye to flatulence and nausea. You can buy ginger capsules and tablets these days which make it easier to take;
- Get more exercise—being active keeps your body’s internals in tip-top shape;
- Drink lots of water through the day—but not while eating of course… (see #2 above).
Now go forth and banish that bloat! I’d love to hear how these bloating remedies work for you. Let me know in the comments.
Please help spread the word and hit 1 of these buttons. Thanks!

i struggle with bloating and it is getting worse with age. glad to find your site. i’m going to start with peppermint and see how i respond. thanks!
I’ve had terrible, chronic bloating for the past 5 months. Doctors cannot figure out what is wrong with me. I work out an hour and a half a day, so that is not the problem. No amount of Gasx, maalox, or bentyl does the trick either. I’ve tried aloe vera capsules but not much, if any, improvement. Any ideas to save me?!
Thanks for dropping by Kelsey. Believe me, I feel your pain!
I think trying to solve the problem with supplements or tablets once you have the bloating is only ever going to be partly successful. You absolutely have to tackle whatever it is that’s causing it. It’s pretty certain to be what you eat and also the combinations of food you eat at the same time.
It could of course be a symptom of something more serious, but that’s for your doctor to advise on. It sounds like they’ve already covered all that.
This is an absolutely fantastic anti-bloating eating plan I can fully recommend:

Hi Dave ,
Just thought I’d let you know how useful I have found your ’13 excellent bloating remedies for you’. Most useful remedie that I have incorporated into my diet is an increased intake of ginger. As a vegeterian I eat large quantaties of cheese which I feel at least in part is responsible for my bloating problem, however since reading your site I have eaten ginger whenever possible which I feel has acted as a counterbalance to my heavy cheese intake. Other than Ginger is there any other product out there that I could try. Many thanks
Hi Richard, thanks for dropping by. It’s true, our bodies aren’t really cut out for eating dairy products so the bloating is the sign that your digestive system isn’t too happy. I’d recommend 2 things: one, try peppermint tea or peppermint capsules, they work a treat for reducing the bloating. I’d also see if you can get some digestive enzyme supplements too. They basically add the enzymes into your system that your body lacks, thus helping to break down the lactose in the cheese.
Hope that helps!
I’ve had success with peppermint capsules
Hi Dave
Just read your 13 points and will be giving them a go starting tomorrow. I suffer from constant bloating, whether I have ate or not. I am sure its to do with my diet. I find when I eat any kind of fried food my stomach becomes bloated and on occasions its so bad that the sides of my stomach are extremely painful. Do potatoes cause gas? I will let you know how I am getting on after a week or so. Thanks for the advice in your article, it’s been very helpful.
Do let me know how you get on Heet! There’s loads of advice all over the site, for things you could try.
Can you help me? at the moment I am suffering from very bad boating and this is causing me to be short of breath. I suffer from Atrial Fibulation and have just had three days in bed with flue. I am taking Lem Sips containg 650mg of Paracetolom 4 times a day and 400mg of Ibuprofen twice day and am recovering from the flue. I am 78 and lead a active life, doing exercise every day and going to the Gym twice a week. At the moment I am in the Carribean on holiday but not enjoying the discomfort of the bloating and the shortness of breath. I was okay when we first arrived for the first few days but developed a flue like cold. I am worried about my AF condition and if this can be the cause. Please advise. Thank you Eric Harris
Could the medication I am taking be the cause of the problem or the change of diet?
Hi Eric – thanks for dropping by. Most definitely the relatively high levels of painkillers could be a definite cause. The digestive system is a delicate operation, and painkillers can often slow the system right down, so it’s not working properly. That can cause a backlog, or for food to be ‘sticking around’ when it’d otherwise be easily absorbed into the blood stream and on its way.
The shortness of breath is something to be concerned about generally, especially if you’ve not had problems before. However, seeing as you’ve had a few days of flu, your body’s not likely to be in optimal health anyway.
Personally, while recovering from an illness and taking painkillers, I wouldn’t worry too much and basically live with the symptoms for a few days. Of course if it gets worse beyond that, definitely see a doctor. I’m not a doctor and can only give ‘common sense’ advice or from my own reading and experience.
Hey, you’re in the Caribbean on holiday! Things aren’t all bad
Take care Eric, hope you’re feeling better soon.
Hi Dave
I have read your comments on the bloating issue, i regularly have ginger tea but I always feel bloated even if i have a glass of water, just feel really uncomfortable. Any other advice?
Thanks
Hi, I get gas and bloated easily but most days I’m okay day to day but restaurant meals or potlucks and stuff get me because i overdo on foods that i don’t have as often that is cooked with spices and rich ingredients(my stomach does not do well with spices). I’m petite (5’5″ and weigh 118 but because of muscle weight i only look like i weigh 105) but I eat more than even a lot of men i know- I have always had a huge appetite. I have 3-4 bowel movements a day so my body is good at discarding waste but I don’t like the constant bloating just from simply consuming a large meal, r a meal cooked by anybody other than myself (because they add spices), or too much gluten, or too much dairy or rich sauces, or even just certain combinations of food that would otherwise would be okay on their own. I can’t even have Bayer aspirin- bad nausea but I can have ibuprofen sometimes without the gut rot. I wake up every morning with a nice flat stomach but even on a good day by stomach has that bloat round appearance throughout the day. I can eat whatever I want without gaining and ounze but my weight drops very easily if i get too busy and skip meals or have flu or stress. I love food and love to eat and I know my problem too is i often eat very fast but i can’t help it- i just feel so hungry when i’m eating and can’t slow down. I typically don’t drink anything with my meals, I always separate food from drinks which i do notice is beneficial. I just don’t understand why I have such healthy regular bowel movents but get bloated and gassy so easily. I never get constipated but the opposite often happens- either diarhea or just more frequent bowel movements especially my feeling adrenalized from stress or feel panicked about something. Another thing is which is very annoying is i retain water during pms and bloat really bad and i’m so uncomfortable and presses on my bladder so makes me fell like I have to pee. so the pms bloating plus the gas bloating actually makes me have to wear my big size 7 pants instead of my size 3 and i have a nice ball for a stomach which makes me look pregnant:(. My iron is low even when I take iron pills so I need meat. Sorry to go on so long- just venting- i hate the way my stomach is. My friends and family offer no sympathy because they are bitter that they gain weight and i don’t and have been the same size since i was 16 and soon turning 38 but they don’t understand that my stomach has always been this way so I will try the peppermint capsules and tea and put ginger in my diet. Garlic gives me bad gas- bad stinky flatulence. My husband teases me that my flatulence smell is worse than a chilli eating beer drinking truck driver but i hate being around people and hoping they don’t notice that the smell is coming from me.
Don’t worry about venting here Carrol, it’s what we’re here for! Living with bloating really is awful, especially when it’s not under control. Stress definitely plays a huge part, but so also does eating too quickly.
(Age: 25 – Current weight: 185lbs)
I’ve had stomach troubles for the past 3-4 years & still haven’t found a decent way to deal with them. Main problems are: Constant bloating, fullness & trapped gas. I’ve tried everything for the most part… peppermint capsules, gas-x, probiotics, pepto-bism0l, teas, etc. & still nothing has helped at all. Since this has been happening I rarely eat big meals… I’m on the low carb diet at the moment & usually eat 1 or 2 meals a day & drink plenty of water. Exercise consists of running & walking 2 to 3 days a week (nothing that intense). All types of food triggers this though & it’s just frustrating because I can never feel normal or gas free. If anyone could suggest any type of solution I would appreciate it!
Thanks!

Thanks Dave . And with this hot weather it’s so tempting to drink more Coke but I’m trying to avoid the pop and go for water with crystal light powder for flavour (major sweet tooth- need sweetness).
Definitely drink lots and lots of water. Sugar is a surefire way to bloating, the perfect food for ‘bad’ bacteria to feast on in your stomach! Good luck Carrol.
please help me. everyday i wake up with a beautiful flat tummy, but the minute i start eating breakfast, my stomach starts pumping up and looking bloated and big, what is wrong with me? i will be uncormfortable all day, i usually have Kellogs all bran or special K for breakfast, with youghurt as i dont take milk, lunch will b anything like a sandwish on brown bread and supper would be brown rice/veges/chicken. i need help plse i cannot walk around with my tummy looking big all day, its embarasing me, please help me
i get up in the morning with a relatively flat stomach, the moment i eat, here is goes, big and bloated. i have a beautiful figure, but the stomach just spoils the look.. I noticed that when i drink cool-drink, its gets worse. Guys, please help, its summer………i want to look good.
Hey Carrol,
Try getting checked for celeacs desease… I had most of you symptoms and found out I had Celecs desease… Don’t stop eatting gluten befoe you get tested or you will show up as not having it.. but you would be surprized at what has glute in it… nd its not just cutting it out slightly… I have horribal bloating and stomic cramps and tolit problems if I even hav cross contamination… Worth getting he test done… they will start out wit a blood test..
Hey Dave , Thanks for all your efforts in putting up this really helpful article.

I had been working out hard on reducing this belly but eventually, I pretty much agree with your article. I have EXACTLY the same problem, early morning my stomach is in a decent shape but man after I eat, I feel like my stomach is going to blast
Also, I am a lean person but with fat belly after food, I look absolutely horrible.
Just a few questions:
1. I read that chewing gum is GOOD for body and teeth in reducing weight! So, I started having sugar-free gums, almost 20 pellets per day. Now, that I read somewhere that gums cause bloating I won’t chew anymore but what’s the right thing. TO CHEW GUM OR NOT TO CHEW GUM?
2. I read drinking water with food is good for digestive system, as it helps. Good or Bad?
When should we have water after food? in minutes? becoz, drinking water after 5-10 mins. makes me feel dehydrated
3. Is having early morning breakfast of skimmed milk with Oatmeal good or bad? (Because’s that probably my only intake of dairy product in entire day). I don’t eat chocolates or cheese etc.
4. We eat lots of whole wheat bread as our daily meal. Almost 7-8 per day, with 100 calories each. This constitute almost 50% of each day diet. What could be an alternative?
I believe, you addressing these issues, would definitely helps lots of people like me who are in confused state of mind for what to do and what not to, and of course, what to eat and what not to :p
Thanks in advance
Also, Is Green Tea Good or Bad?
Hi Ashi – some quick answers for you!
Gum = bad. If you don’t want the bloat, don’t chew gum.
Drinking some water with food – sipping it – is not a problem at all, and actually helps digestion. Glugging lots of it down whilst eating isn’t advisable.
That sounds fine to me, unless you’re lactose intolerant. Actually, skimmed milk contains more lactose than full fat milk. Does your bloating get worse after eating the oatmeal?
I’d look at reducing the amount of wholewheat bread you eat actually. If you’re intolerant to wheat, this won’t be helping you, but even if you’re not, eating lots of wholewheat bread each day isn’t good for bloating. There are lots of other kinds of bread out there if you feel the need to eat a lot of bread. Could you fill out your meals with other kinds of carbohydrates instead? Rice is very good indeed, as are potatoes, for example.
Hope that helps! Dave .
Green tea should be good for reducing bloating, as it’s rich in antioxidants, helping to detox your body. As bloating can often be caused by storing excess toxic waste, green tea can definitely help. As with everything though, moderation is key
Hey,
Just read your remedies, n I’ve already started feeling that these will solve my problem too.
I have severe bloating. I came to London 4 years back. Before that I was totally fine. But 2 years back I started noticing that when ever I eat, little or more, my stomach bloats and since last year it’s been worse.
What I feel is that when I came to London I started eating too much of the junk food (burgers/fries/fizzy drinks) all because I used to stay out all day at college and in lunch times with friends that is what I ate for about 3 years. Since last year I’ve tried to eat less of junk food but still its the same.
My diet is something like this:
1. BREAKFAST: 2-3 slices of white bread with an egg and 2 glasses of milk.
2. LUNCH: I don’t eat a regular meal in lunch but might get some sandwich or make fries or rice or may be crisps n juices/fizzy drinks (sometimes).
3. DINNER: 2 chapatis/roti (made of wheat) with some home-cooked vegetables/chicken/meat or lentils. I have salad with it too (cucumber n tomato) and with it I drink milk or water (one in a day).
4. LATE NIGHT: before going to bed, I do eat sth. I wanted to ask is it ok to have late night meals?
Please let me know what is good for me and how can I get rid of this problem!
Thankyou
Hi Meena – absolutely sounds like you could make changes to your diet. There’s a fair bit of processed food in there, plus skipping a meal sometimes, plus eating late at night.
Not sure if you’ve seen it, but I had great success personally with the Great Taste No Pain program. I mention it a couple of times around the site. They have a free meal plan, and then also you can (optionally) pay for a full eating plan. It’s a very sensible eating plan that tackles all the causes of bloating in diet. Definitely worth a look!
Good luck!
Hello there! All of a sudden, as of the past two weeks, I’ve been feeling bloated every day, sometimes I’ll even wake up in the middle of the night because of it. (I usually sleep on my stomach, so that doesn’t go over to well…) I’ve read your tips and feedback, and realized that lately, while I generally drink a lot of tea, I started drinking a cup almost every morning and have also started chewing a lot more gum than what I usually do. I really hope these are major factors in my bloated problem! And hopefully with the help of peppermint tea and some ginger my insides will be back to normal in no time.
I’d just like to say thanks for posting helpful hints and remedies!
You’re most welcome! Really glad to have helped
Hi Dave ,
!!. I have more fats around my belly so that is why i am working only on that, i walk one hour everyday and do some good core exercise for abs, its just gettin more bigger
!!
I dont have much dairy products, i barely even drink milk, but now this bloating has started since i started working out, ginger and garlic are always in the food i consume, water consumption is also fine, i look like im pregnant actualy, it is soo horribale
Has anyone tried or does anyone know anything about artichoke extract? Healthspan.co.uk sell these in tablet form. I’ve been taking them for a couple of weeks now and they have helped to relieve my bloating slightly. They are supposed to aid digestion, particularly after big meals.
Hey Dave , good to read your comments. As far as I am experienced about getting rid of bloating, I concluded myself getting peculiar about food helped me really well. I feel bloated, I went to doctors across borders, got all tests and u’sounds done, nothing was reported bad in medical lab reports, even gluten test was not positive in lab report! but practically saying bye to wheat, and leafy food, and dairy as well, solved my prob to good measure. I rely these days normally on chicken, not curry-cooked but just roasted, grilled or baked, or even steamed, all that means without oils and spices. Meat has good vitamin B12 and assisting bacteria for digestion. But, ultimately I would say, bloating prob depends and varies from one person to another, no can really claim the remedy which helped Mr X would definitely benefit to Ms Y. But I have concluded, as the maximum, dairy, soft drinks, and leafy green food at the biggest culprits for bloating. avoiding these three in major will surely help, but you have to do this practice for atleast a month to see results. Last year I went a specific diet plan, for two months only on egg, meat, fish, chicken, and that too no curry stuff in anything. I was feeling everyday better after 10 days, and I was also having a regular walk for half an hour. After that due to some change in location and thus circumstances I started the veggi food stuff again, and thus suffered. I started the before acted plan and now again getting better day by day.
Hey Jay, thanks for your comment. Great to see you’ve taken really positive steps to beat your bloating! You’re bang on when you say:
Amen. You’ve taken steps to test and find what causes yours, and do something about it. Well done!
I’ve heard of it being used before for bloating, but have never tried it myself. Is it still easing the symptoms ok?
I have had too much red wine tonight after abdominal surgery. Stupid I know, but fely okay after four weeks off my feet. Now I am so loated and uncomfortable. Someone told me to drink apple cider vinegar but I know nothing about it..how much to drink (sounds gross) and what strength so miserable I won’t be able to sleep.
Would so appreciate some ideas or help.
Thank you,
Michele
Hi Dave ,
For the last week or so I’ve had a lot of bloating. I usually wake up and have a flat stomach but as soon as I eat it goes.
I know it’s bad but I do drink a lot of fizzy drinks and a lot of ‘junk food’ but I do eat healthy foods well. I also don’t exercise as much as I should. So I’m putting the bloating down to that, well i’m hoping thats whats causing it. so I’m going to try your remedies and hope they help! Thank you for posting!
Hi Dave ,
Came across this site as I have been searching what all I could do to help my Bro. From birth he has problems with Abdominal bloating and vomiting. He is 25 now. His burps are very foul smelling and he has great craving for sour tasting food. Biopsies taken has ruled out the possibility of Hirschprungs as nerve cells exists. All these 25 years, my dad has taken him to a lot of hospitals and Doctors said – There is no abnormality with intestines and distention could be a functional cause with Intestines (both Small and Large) expanding with No reason. 3 years ago his symptoms were lot relieved when he used tablets – Razo and Ganaton (for motility) but when he stopped symptoms came back with full swing. I am planning to ask him to try Fennel tea, Ginger tea and Peppermint tea (He has never tried all these – Which order and when to have this – Before/After – Breakfast/Dinner/Lunch ?). I have asked him to stop Sugar, Milk, Oilish foods and take time to eat, Walk daily. Have you come across any remedy which has worked best for UNEXPLAINED ABDOMINAL DISTENTION ? Could he be lacking any Enzymes to digest any particular food (Most food items in my place is made of Rice) – If so what is the best supplement we can try?
Missed to mention – I believe from what doctors say it is Gas from undigested food in GUT that causes distention of both Small and Large Intestines. Would definitely want your suggestion on trying Fennel tea, Ginger tea and Peppermint tea. Dont know which is the best for above said cause and which to try first and when to have this – Before/After – Breakfast/Dinner/Lunch ?
Sorry to psot my query in bits and pieces – and yes, my brother vomits Bile as well…He is hospitalised now.
Hi Abhishek – so sorry to hear about your brother’s troubles after all this time. As I’m sure you can understand, it would be inappropriate for me to try to provide a diagnosis or solutions over the internet, it’s clearly a case for medical professionals. However, if you want to try something like peppermint, what I would advise is getting hold of peppermint capsules. You can get them from health food stores. You take 1 or 2 about an hour before eating. Then after meals, you could try him drinking peppermint tea or fennel tea.
I’m not suggesting this will solve all the issues – it’s clearly a big problem – but it may help provide some comfort. Also, have you tried experimenting with cutting out certain foods – e.g. foods containing wheat (gluten); foods containing milk (lactose)? He may be intolerant to something.
Good luck in your quest for a solution.
Hello Dave – I am a 40 yr old woman. I exercise 5 times a week – I have lost nearly 30 lbs but my stomach is always bloated. I am lactose intolerant so I don’t each cheese, drink whole milk and etc. I cut down on my wheat intake per my mom suggestion, although I don’t believe I have wheat problem. Why is my stomach so bloated and is there anything I can do to eliminate the bloat? Also, I do not have regular bowel movements – i take fiber pills and have a colon cleanse – which produce alot of air?? What can I do? Thank you.
Thanks Dave for answering my queries. Thought of letting you and other readers more about his problem. His troubles aggrevated when he moved outside the country for work for about 1 year (which I now feel was a very unwise decision – For people having stomach related troubles, It is always better to Stay where they are comfortable). He returned with severe greenish vomiting, was hospitalised. He got discharged and after few days developed stomach distenstion which was monitored for 15 days and did not subside. The surgeon did Colostomy surgery and created a Transverse stoma. He could resume food for about 20 days after which occassionally he started vomiting bile (no food with vomit). Hospitalised now, and the chief surgeon is planning to reverse the Colostomy and also planning a subtotal Colectomy (removing unwanted portion of large intestine). Surgery to be done on Friday 9-Dec-2011. The whole thing I wanted to convey to the readers of this forum is – If you have Stomach/Large and Small Intestine troubles, it is always better NOT TO TAKE ANY RISKS which might aggrevate the condition. If it aggrevates, the resulting treatment will be very time consuming. I will keep you posted Dave with updates.
Hi there,
Over the past week or two I have experienced a strange cramping feeling in my stomach every once in a while. It is quite brief maybe 30 seconds but when it happens its quite painful, similar to an upset stomach. It comes and fades every few hours. More recently for the past 5 days my stomach has started to feel very bloated all the time especially after eating meals – no matter how small they are. I always think when I wake up it will have passed and my stomach will be flat again but now when I wake up it is still very bloated and even when I’m hungry I feel so full at the same time (if that makes sense). It is really uncomfortable!! I have never had any problems with food allergies or intolerances before and I’ve started to eat less dairy but no improvements so far. Do you have any other suggestions? Is it worth seeing a doctor about? Thanks.
Hi Juliet – thanks so much for leaving a comment. I’d definitely contact your doctor – especially when you have sharp cramps or pains, it’s worth seeing a medical professional, just to make sure you’re getting a proper diagnosis. Chances are it’s digestive, but there are all sorts of other issues it might be. Likely totally harmless, but always best to be sure!
Hope you feel better soon.
Hey everyone.
I just wanted to let you all know, that maybe your problem is Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I suffer from many of the above symptoms, such as bloating, diarrhea, abdominal pain etc. I went to the doctors recently and they said I have IBS. Unfortunately, there is no medication or anything to treat it, but definitely certain foods to avoid/add in your diet (as listed by Dave .) I’m no doctor, but I just wanted to give my input, because I have noticed a difference in the way I have been feeling since I changed my diet. Avoid greasy, processed foods as much as possible. Also, I take “Lactase Enzymes”- a natural, more concentrated version of “Lactaids”, when I eat dairy, and I find it helps tremendously with the way I feel after eating or drinking products with lactose in them. Hope this helps! Bloating sucks
hi there,
after reading the info on this ghastly bloated feeling, i too have a similar problem with the bloating all day long… i am a runner so i consider myself fairly fit and besides im not a fat person, however my tummy is a very sore point.. i sometimes feel like going for a tummy tuck.
Thanks anyway for all the interesting advice, i will surely go out and buy peppermint caps and see how it works !!!!!
Happy holidays to you all…..
Hi Dave ,
I have had this bloating problem for 3 years now. Every morning I wakeup with heavy flatulence. It had made my life miserable. In Office, I am under constant pressure that someone doesn’t notice that the sounds are coming from me. The farts are mostly loud and irritating.
Though my intake of food doesn’t include dairy, leafy, fizzy drinks, cigerettes, alcohol or wheat breads, I mostly eat rice and daal(a receipe with lentils)/veg curry/chicken with moderate oil and spices. I add more pepper as I had read black pepper cures Indigestion. I do not eat junk much, I have ginger tea every morning and evening. It seems my stomach bloats when I have intake of Chicken/Meat/Lentils/Potatoes/Groundnut and spicy stuff sometimes.
Does drinking unboiled raw milk cause this problem? I drink that way occasionally (1-2 glasses a week)
I will try fennel, mint leaves and try to chew food slower than I do now (I eat for 30mins- slowest in my family). If you have any suggestions please mail me “email hidden; JavaScript is required“
Just wonder if Peppermint oil and the tea are good for pregnant women.
wow i basically did every thing opposite of that list.Now I’m going to follow these remedies
Hi Dave ,
Came across this website. Thanks for the advice. I have been suffering with IBS now for over 10 years and for some reason it has got very bad over the last two years. I have managed to deal with the pain but I cant get rid of the bloating. I have cut down on milk and dont eat gluten, dont eat fried foods, I avoid gas foods as much as I can, I drink 2 or more litres of water each day. I have a very healthy diet but does not make a differences. I also exercise everyday, sometimes twice a day. Exercise helps bloating but as soon as I eat, bloated stomach is back. I had a duodenal ulcer last year which is gone now but often wonder if this has affected my digestive system. Keep going to doctors and they have no answers for me just keep giving me more medication which I have now stopped as dont think it does any good. I have been going for colonics which have helped my constipation but they did mention I was full of gas. It does not seem to matter what foods I eat, I bloat automatically after eating anything. I take peppermint capsules and do find they help slightly but most of the time I am at a complete loss. I feel it is having a huge impact on my life which I know everyone else will feel as well.
I have bloating problems , I actually look like I am pregnant and get that question. I drink at least 10 8oz of water a day. Only one soda and really try to stay away from soda or tea. I do drink peppermint tea but just not sweet enough for me to drink. On the peppermint supplement what is the dosage that should be taken?? Please help would like to get some to see if this will work. How about a supplement for ginger also??
Thank you for your help.
