Sudden bloating of stomach can happen at any time. It can really take you by surprise. What causes this sudden stomach bloating?

This great little video asks whether liquid intake has got anything to do with it. The answer is that yes, it can, but it’s linked more into possible food intolerance and a general sensitivity of the intestines. Take a look:

Try sleeping on your left side. Your left leg should be straight and your right leg should be bent at 90 degrees.

I have bloating often but I know it’s not caused by what I eat. I eat small portions of food often and I only drink water and tea. I’m a vegetarian who hardly eats any dairy too. I only become bloated if I don’t eat as often as I usually do and when I I fly, which is way too often. I never get bloated after a meal just at random times and it happens rapidly and it is extremely noticeable making me look like I’m at least 4 months pregnant. Is there anything else I can take besides peppermint tea? I would just like to have a couple different remedies on hand with me because I’d rather be safe than sorry.

Hi there Dom – I’ve found fennel tea to be really good as well actually, although I do swear by peppermint capsules. I get them from my doctor, take 1 or 2 about 30 minutes before eating.

Mind you, it sounds like you’re doing lots of things right. I feel for you with the ’4 months pregnant’ thing, believe me! :)
