You may know that stomach bloating is most often caused by undigested food. For whole heap of possible reasons, your body doesn’t digest certain types of food.

These then sit in your gut, fermenting away. This causes the gas which pumps your stomach up like a balloon and makes you feel all icky.

One of the reasons food doesn’t easily digest is because we eat the wrong kinds of foods together at the same time.

I was interested to watch a recent edition of Good Morning America, which had a slot on the problem of bloating.

While I had a hard time trying to not to chuckle at the overly loud presenter (shouting and barking at poor Dr. Oz, the guest), the clip is otherwise really informative! With the aid of a rather graphic animation (eurgh!), Dr. Oz explains 4 simple bloating remedies that everyone can try.

Fruit salad

In my last post I urged you to try a raw food diet to reduce your bloated belly.

Yesterday I found myself seriously suffering from a very large bloated belly. I actually felt utterly horrible—full of wind, lacking in energy, highly uncomfortable. Bleurgh!

I’m not sure what triggered it—I do generally seem to suffer a great deal after the weekend. I wonder if it’s to do with changes in my eating habits?

Does anyone else suffer more bloating after a weekend?

In any case, I decided to test the raw food theory. Here’s a quick snapshot I took on my iPhone of the lunch I prepared yesterday:
